Winged Pop Up Diamond Card

Today I played with a fun fold design that I CASE’d from Laura Stranks, a talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Australia (you can find her on YouTube as Creative Gems). At first glance this card looks a little complicated — but honestly, I was surprised at just how easy it was to put together.

And here’s the thing: once you make one, you won’t want to stop! They’re so much fun that I found myself reaching for more paper right away.

Here’s a breakdown of the supplies you’ll need to create the card.
Base Card – cardstock 8″ x 5 1/2″
Mats – Need 5 – cardstock 5 1/4″ x 1 3/4″
DSP 1 – Need 3 – 5″ x 1 1/2″
DSP 2 – Need 1 – 5″ x 1 1/2″
Basic White cardstock – 5″ x 1 1/2″ (for back of card)
Diamonds cardstock – Need 4 same as base colour – 2″ x 2″
Diamonds mats – Need 4 – 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
Diamonds DSP – Need 3 of DSP 1 and 1 of DSP 2 – 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
Back Cubes to hold wings – Need 2 same as base colour – 2″ x 1 1/4″
Embellishments as required

The base card is scored on the long side at 2″, 3″, 5″ and 6″.

Here’s the card I made live on my video. I used Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler. The DSP is from Elegant Pine Snowflakes. Sentiment on the back is from the Jolly Holly Stamp Set. Sentiment on the front is from A Little Cheer stamp set. Embellishments are Traditional Sparkling Sequins.

Here’s two other cards I made using different colours but everything else is the same. This one uses Old Olive and Real Red. The DSP is from Traditions of Christmas.
