Playing with the Velvet Meadow Suite

I have two cards for you today, created with the beautiful Velvet Meadow Suite. This suite is absolutely stunning with the velveteen specialty paper, cute flower embellishments, gorgeous floral Designer Series Paper and of course the floral stamps and dies. The cards are pretty easy to make and I tried a new technique that is currently popping up everywhere, called the Double Vision technique.

The first card I made was basically copied from the catalogue. I started with a base of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I added a piece of the floral DSP that measured 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I cut a piece of the Bubble Bath velveteen special paper with the 7th smallest die from the Party Banner Dies. I stamped some leaves in Peaceful Pine on Basic White and die cut. The flower was inked in Berry Burst, stamped off once, and then using a Sponge Dauber lightly added some Berry Burst to the tips of the flowers, then stamped on scrap Basic White. The center of the flowers were stamped in Berry Burst. I added the leaves with adhesive and added the flower with Dimensionals. I die cut 3 of the tiny flowers in Basic White and added them. I also added some White and Berry Burst Dreamy Flowers. The velveteen piece was then adhered to the card with Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst and added with Dimensionals. For my Double Vision card, I took a piece of the DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ and cut into 1/2″ vertical strips making sure I kept them in order. I glued the first strip down to the left edge of a piece of Basic White, also measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Then I butted the next piece up against the one I just glued down and glued the next one down (which is like the 3rd piece) and removed the butted strip. After the 4 strips have been glued down, take the remaining 4 strips and adhere to card with Dimensionals, making sure the strips are in the correct order. This was as far as I went during my FB Live. After it was over, I die cut a vellum circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies. The sentiment is from the Banner Sayings stamp set and was stamped in Berry Burst on Basic White and cut with the Three Banner Punch. The sentiment strip was glued to the vellum and I added Dimensionals directly to the card so my vellum would be placed exactly where I wanted it.
